Two Boston-area Nonprofits to Receive $25,000 Donations from Colts' Irsay

The Jim Irsay Collection

BOSTON (July 11, 2023)—On Sat., July 15, Indianapolis Colts Owner Jim Irsay will host a free exhibition of The Jim Irsay Collection, a traveling museum of iconic artifacts from rock music, American history and pop culture, at Boston’s TD Garden.

During the event, Irsay, an active philanthropist in Indiana and nationally, will present $25,000 donations to two Boston-area nonprofits:

  • The Joe Andruzzi Foundation, based in North Attleborough, Mass., provides help, hope and a reason to smile for New England cancer patients by contributing financial support when it is needed most. Founded by former New England Patriots three-time Super Bowl Champion Joe Andruzzi and his wife Jen, the Foundation grew out of Andruzzi’s own successful battle with cancer and the couple’s ongoing work with  cancer patients across the region. In 2007, Andruzzi’s football career abruptly ended when he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Burkitt’s lymphoma. After becoming cancer-free, the Andruzzis chose to dedicate their lives towards solving the financial distress a cancer diagnosis can cause in the lives of patients and families. For more info or to make a donation, visit joeandruzzifoundation.org.
  • Team Sharing Inc., based in Marlborough, Mass., a national organization of parents who have lost a child to substance use disorder. Through social networking, community activism, grief services and advocacy, Team Sharing provides support and friendship to grieving families while working to raise awareness of substance use disorder and its impact on our communities. For more info, visit teamsharinginc.org.

When: Saturday, July 15, 6 - 11 p.m.

Where: TD Garden, 100 Legends Way, Boston

The collection also is working with food rescue partner Careit to save and donate unsold food to community organizations in the Boston area. After the event, the kitchen staff will safely cool any unsold food overnight for a Sunday morning donation to Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD.) ABCD helps people access nutritious groceries; more information on their programs to fight hunger here. For more info about Careit, visit careit.com.

The event also will feature a free concert by The Jim Irsay Band, featuring special guest performances by music legends Kevin Cronin (REO Speedwagon), country music star and 22-time Grammy® winner Vince Gill and Peter Wolf (J. Geils Band).
